I spend a lot of time online; especially watching YouTube videos. I love watching the different cooking shows and learning their different techniques and styles of cooking. I want to share with you some of my favourite channels. Hopefully they will inspire you as they have inspired me.
Laura in the Kitchen
Although Italian, Laura cooks a variety of dishes from all over the world. Her dishes are simple and from my experience, very easy to prepare. She keeps her ingredients to a bare minimum; not adding anything unnecessary and too fancy. Laura’s recipes are perfect comfort food and you are sure to find something which you will love. She takes requests from her viewers as well as publishes her recipes on her own blog Laura in the Kitchen.
Possibly one of the most fun channels which I have come across, SORTEDFood follows a group of 4 guys who do all of the cooking. One of the friends (Ben) is a professional chef and in each of the episodes he teaches the others how to prepare various dishes. Their channel is light, funny and upbeat; certainly worth watching. You can see them going on trips and performing challenges and creating some very interesting recipes. Their blog (SORTEDFood) as well as the comment section on their channel is highly interactive. Most of their recipes come from suggestions from the viewers.
Admittedly, I am not a vegan or a vegetarian (although I did try it but sadly it caused me health issues), but I have to admit that the recipes on this channel are simply delicious. Candice (the host) shows fun and exciting ways to incorporate amazing flavour into vegan and vegetarian meals which can sometimes be a struggle for those who are new to the lifestyle or who are considering taking it up. I do suggest checking out her blog The Edgy Veg and having a look at her wonderful creations.
With over 6 million subscribers, Rosanna Pansino has certainly established a name for herself. She has an adorable charm which comes across in her videos. She makes delicious sweet treats and often has other YouTubers as guests on her channel. She has her own published cookbook and you can follow her blog Rosanna Pansino where she not only shares her recipes, but she shares her day to day life with her viewers.
How to Cake It
Just as the name suggests, this channel is all about CAKE! – which is always a good thing. Have you ever wondered how bakers create those outrageous cakes with what seems like 150 million tiers? Well, Yolanda makes some of the most amazing cakes, and breaks it down step by step to help us average bakers try to create something which we could pass for “good”. Be sure to check out her blog How to Cake it With Yolanda Gampp on which you can find her recipes, videos as well as merchandise.
